BRITT HYLAND
Head Coach
Britt trained under renowned coaches Karoly von Toros and Brian Button and has held Masters records in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke, as well as the 200 Individual Medley. With over 20 years of experience in teaching and coaching, she co-owned Aquabats Swim School before transitioning into adult triathlon and swim coaching. In 2021, Britt took over Aqua Sharks Academy from Csanad Feldhausz. Known for her hands-on approach, Britt leads by example—regularly competing alongside her swimmers and athletes in triathlon and swim events. She is a strong advocate for long-term participation in sport, a philosophy that has sustained her passion for swimming and athletics throughout her life.

TARRYN STANFORD
Assistant Coach
Swimming has been a part of Tarryn’s life from a very young age. She first found herself in the water as her mom’s “demonstrator” during lessons, sparking a natural love for the sport. From there, she joined a swim club and went on to compete at a competitive level. Tarryn’s passion for sport led her to pursue a degree in Sports Management, alongside developing her coaching career. Tarryn’s ultimate goal is to help swimmers experience the joy of moving efficiently through the water, while supporting their growth both mentally and physically. Tarryn strives to challenge swimmers in a positive and encouraging way, helping them step out of their comfort zones and reach their full potential.
KAISEA BUTTON
Assistant Coach
Kaisea is a qualified Swim South Africa Learn-to-Swim instructor whose love for the water began at an early age under the guidance of her grandfather and legendary swim coach, Brian Button. She joined Clifton Life Saving as a Nipper and has since become a qualified Senior Lifesaver. Her passion for the ocean extends beyond the pool—she enjoys freediving, kayaking, and even big-wave surfing! Kaisea is currently studying toward a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching and has a natural gift for working with children. Her energy, enthusiasm, and love for swimming make her a wonderful addition to our coaching team.
TEAGAN
Assistant Coach
Teagan has been involved in swimming and water sports from a young age, beginning his journey at just 5 years old under the guidance of Wendy Way. From the start, his passion for the water was clear—and it has stayed with him ever since. Teagan competed in galas throughout his school years and represented Cape Dolphins up to Level 2. Beyond swimming, Teagan is an avid surfer and an active water polo player and coach, bringing a well-rounded and energetic approach to all aspects of aquatic sport.
ELLEN
Assistant Coach
Coming from a lifesaving background, Ellen is passionate about helping people of all ages feel safe and confident in the water. From early swimming lessons to competitive racing in high school, her love for the water has grown across many disciplines, including lifesaving, water polo, open water swimming, and more.Ellen believes that swimming is an essential life skill and that everyone deserves the confidence and ability to stay safe in and around the water.
